Lithium Exploration

Before: Atmospheric penetration False Color Composite (FCC) image.

After: Low and high lithium associates spectral responses.

Before: Low and high lithium associates spectral responses.

After: Lithium associates delineated (both low and high response areas).

Lithium Associates Delineation

The aim of this project was to delineate the main indicators of lithium associates deposits using Magnolia Terra's advanced remote sensing spectral processing of satellite data.

The results derived from partial unmixing algorithms allow us to produce comprehensive, reliable, and accurate information for the reconnaissance stages of lithium exploration at both regional and district scales.

Mineral Mapping

Before: Raw short-wave infrared band of the region of interest.

After: Geological features discriminated.

Before: Geological features discriminated.

After: Delineated geological features mapped on top of FCC 3-band image.

Spectral Signature Processing

Using both SWIR and NIR (short-wave/near infrared) bands acquired from the Terra ASTER instrument, we analyze spectral signatures of the host rocks.

Gold Exploration

Before: Original raw short-wave infrared image of the region of interest.

After: Alteration zones discriminated.

Before: Alteration zones discriminated.

After: Gold alteration zones mapped on top of the VNIR image.

Mapping of Gold Alteration Zones

Alteration zones are important features for the exploration of gold deposits.

Magnolia Terra mapped the gold alteration zones for one of the regions in Egypt using various spectral classification techniques. Interestingly, that the region had no reported previous remote sensing studies concerning alteration mapping and there were no detailed geological maps available before.

Water Resources

Before: Original scene (near infrared band) of the region of interest.

After: Descriminated water content is marked in blue.

Temporal and Spatial Dynamics of Water Content

Arid regions cover more than 30% of the Earth’s land surface. Although they typically do not have a large number of inhabitants, they are often the loci of economic and cultural activity. In such regions fresh water is a very limited resource and cost-efficient methods for monitoring changes in arid environments is a prior tasks for local governments.

In cooperation with National Cartographic Corporation and Lomonosov Moscow State University, Magnolia Terra conducted a water resources exploration project in the arid area of the United Arab Emirates.

The Southern Ural

Hydrocarbon Exploration

Before: Landsat 7 ETM+ 2.09–2.35 μm band.

After: Fourier analysis: local circular patterns distribution.

Before: Fourier analysis: local circular patterns distribution.

After: Probability distribution of sub-surface anomalies at a depth of 2,750 meters.

Track Down Sub-Surface Anomalies

An innovative proprietary S3A technology has been used to explore oil deposits in the South Ural region.

A vertical linear profile (left) is generated from the stack of anomalies probability distribution at different depth ranges.
